About Me
I am a Senior Editor and columnist at The Athletic (The New York Times), where I specialize in fantasy sports editorial strategy and content development. My role is a hybrid of leadership and deep, hands-on craft: I co-manage a talented roster of writers and analysts while remaining deeply entrenched in the work itself. From developmental shaping to final copy editing, I touch nearly every piece of content we produce, ensuring it is both accurate and engaging.
I am passionate about making data-informed decisions and optimizing for SEO to drive audience growth, but my primary focus is always on the reader experience. As a columnist, I understand the creative process; as an editor, I work to position The Athletic as the premier destination for fantasy sports enthusiasts by fostering a dynamic and collaborative editorial environment.
My path to sports media was intentionally eclectic, giving me a unique perspective on storytelling and precision. Before joining The Athletic, I brought expert strategy to the Fantasy Life community as a writer and researcher. Prior to my pivot into sports, I spent over a decade refining my editorial skills at literary, nonprofit and news organizations.
This diverse background allows me to wield an exceptional command of style and tone. I hold an MFA from Eastern Washington University and have expert fluency in The Chicago Manual of Style, the AP Stylebook, the MLA Style Manua and the APA Publication Manual.
